In August 2022, Aker Solutions entered into an agreement with SLB and Subsea 7 to form a new joint venture for subsea bringing subsea experts to deliver complete subsea and deep-water engineering solutions for the energy industry. The three companies will bring invaluable technical competence, geographical presence, robust portfolio and backlog projects, and skilled personnel with segment expertise to this agreement. This subsea integrated services venture will position itself to be a tier 1 company in the industry.
The joint venture to come into effect in the second half of 2023 is subject to approval by the respective authorities of the concerned countries.
Our Mechanical Components Department in Tranby, Norway is now looking for a Senior Valve Engineer to strengthen our team.
What will you be doing?
- Collaborate with Product Manager in maintaining and developing preferred offering within dedicated product portfolio
- Supporting across projects in cooperation with multiple disciplines situated in various locations
- Mediate with product manager and valve group for the definition/ selection of valve designs based on input from system engineering
- Collaborate with Supply Chain on studies and tenders of prospect projects
- Support ongoing project deliveries including supplier follow-up and technical queries prioritizing quality
- Participate in gap analysis for dedicated product portfolio towards governing standards and specifications
We think you should have:
- Bachelors- or master’s degree within technical disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience from the oil & gas industry, preferably within subsea systems
- Proven knowledge of product area with recognized track-record, including knowledge of small/ large bore valves (ball and gate) and actuators.
- Knowledge of relevant standards within subsea systems such as ASME B31.8 and API 6DSS/ 6A/ 17D
- Knowledge of relevant manufacturing methods/ processes such as piping and valves interfaces. pressure testing, materials, coatings (NORSOK M501); complemented by good understanding/ awareness subsea structures such as XTs and Manifolds
- Awareness of CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Proficiency in SAP ERP system preferred
- Effective communication skills in English, written and spoken
- Drive to take initiative and ownership of product related activities
- Have excellent teamwork and cooperation skills
