The following job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities.

Position Summary:
The purpose of the order puller in Small Pack is to assemble finished products into boxes or containers for small
shipping quantities. Perform physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and reception of supplies and
finished products. Count and sort various product items for shipping. Verify shipping records and correct packaging
and labels. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties: •
Follow all company protocols for pulling and shipping products for small orders including Amazon orders,

Distributors backorders, Retail web orders and chain stores.
• Perform related tasks such as pulling the complete order with accuracy, selecting the correct quantity,

putting products in boxes, labeling boxes, placing correct labels on chain related packages, properly
sealing shipping boxes, shipping product according to specified schedule

• Maintain knowledge of products, inventory items, location of products
• Maintain knowledge of electronic data interchange
• Retrieve customers’ orders from Traverse (ordering system) and create picking slips
• View customers order daily and assemble orders with extreme accuracy and attention to detail
• Obtain correct quantity and merchandise from bins or shelves and place in shipping containers for all

orders
• Prepare merchandise for shipment to customers, select the appropriate size box, place the correct quantity

of product in box, seal box, weigh box, label box and select appropriate shipping method (overnight,
second day, priority shipping).

• Secure products in current shippers for ground packages
• Understand shipping methods and contact designated carrier for express packages for efficient delivery of

product
• Follow and maintain all inventory control procedures when pulling orders or returning product to stock.
• Process returns and correct discrepancies (reship, discard product, return to inventory, etc.) in Traverse
• Process all distributors backorders
• Ability to use hand tools (tape dispenser, box cutters, computer ordering system, printers) to ship product.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure all issues impacting shipping of products are resolved.
• Prepare area for inventory and participate in inventory count and leveling products for count
• Assist team with Amazon orders each Monday
• Assist and support other areas when needed
• Make appropriate contacts with management representatives to communicate any major issues during the

shift
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and keep warehouse organized and clean
• Sweep and remove debris from the floor daily
• Manage break and lunch relief as required.
• Take approved vacation and reduce absenteeism to ensure the success of the team
• Shows correct sense of urgency to find and fix all abnormalities and other operating issues
• Ability to work occasional overtime shifts and work occasionally on Saturdays
• Must be available to work on Inventory days
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to tolerate sustained standing/walking up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, lift, and grasp inventory
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.

  • Ability to handle repetitive motions movements frequently and regularly using your wrists, hands and
fingers
  • Ability to hear, receive and communicate important instructions or ideas.
  • Ability to push/pull material weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing temperature environment from cold to hot temperatures


Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 to 3 years work experience in a distribution environment.
  • Ability to understand instructions, work processes, reason and make judgments, problem solve, plan,
coordinate, execute, and direct own work while coping with a variety of duties and expectations.
  • Ability to work with a number of specified deadlines and expectations related to the department.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and distinctly (oral or written) with peers and supervisors.
  • Good mathematical aptitude is required to make accurate numerical additions and subtractions and
converting units to decimals.
  • Ability to perform effectively under stressful conditions, prioritizing job duties.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, driving to root cause.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer orders
  • Must have the initiative and enterprise to tackle problems without supervision and develop creative
solutions.
  • Ability to complete all required safety and training courses •
